Calcium Corbiere Extra 10ml (30 ampoules/box)

Indications

• Calcium deficiency conditions, e.g. rickets, calcium supplementation when daily diet cannot be ensured sufficiently.
• Cases of increased calcium demand such as growing children, pregnant women and lactation, rehabilitation after long immobilization periods due to fractures.
• Calcium supplementation in management of osteoporosis due to various causes, bone mineral loss in elderly, prevention of pre-and postmenopausal or corticosteroid-induced bone demineralization.

Contraindications

• Patients who are hypersensitive to any component of product.
• Hypercalcaemia, hypercalcinuria and calcium lithiasis.
• Severely impaired kidney function.
• Large dose of ascorbic acid should be avoid in patients with glucose – 6 – phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (G6PD), history of nephrolithiasis, hyperoxaluria, thalassemia.
• Large dose of nicotinamide should be avoided in patients with severe liver disease, active peptic ulcer; arterial hemorrhaging, severe hypotension.

Compositon/Ingredients

Dosage and administration

• Children: 5 – 10 ml x 2 times daily.
• Adults: 10 – 20 ml x 2 times daily.

Precaution

• Calcium Corbiere Extra contains sodium sulfite, which may rarely cause severe hypersensitivity reactions and bronchospasm.
• Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine.
• Precaution when prescribing for diabetic and low-salt diet patients, patients with renal impairment, or diseases associated with hypercalcaemia such as sarcoidosis and some malignancies; patients with a history of peptic ulcer disease, and to those with diabetes mellitus, gout, or hepatic impairment.
• Prolonged use of large doses of ascorbic acid may result in increased metabolism of the drug (“systemic conditioning”), scurvy may occur when intake of the vitamin is reduced to normal. Ingestion of large doses of the vitamin C during pregnancy has resulted in scurvy in neonates.
• In pregnant women, calcium intake should be supplied from a sufficient and balanced diet. Excessive intake of vitamins and other minerals may be harmful to the fetus and mother. Vitamin C and nicotinamide supplement genially considered safe during pregnancy when the recommended dose is taken.
• Patients should be aware of how they react to drug before driving or operating machinery.
