Indications
The prophylaxis of angina, if especially element vasospastic as Prinzmetal’s angina.
The treatment of hypertension.
Contraindications
- Cardiogenic shock.
- Clinically significant aortic stenosis.
- Myocardial infraction in the previous one month.
- Acute attack in chronic stable angina, in unstable angina.
- Porphyria.
Dosage and administration
- Angina prophylaxis: 1 tablet twice daily.
- Hypertension: 1 tablet twice daily.
Precaution
- Withdraw of ischaemic pain occurs or existing pain worsens shortly after initiating treatment, stop using this drug.
- Patients with heart failure or significantly impaired left ventricular function.
- Reduce dose in hepatic impairment, diabetes mellitus.
- Grapefruit juice should be avoided by patients on nifedipine.
- Nifedipine may inhibit labour.
- Do not use for pregnant women unless necessary. A decision should be made to discontinue nursing or to discontinue the drug. Taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.
- Patients should be aware of how they react to drug before driving or operating machinery.
