Compositon/Ingredients: Clomipramine

Clomipramine is used to treat OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), depression and other related mental disorders. It may also be used to treat cataplexy (muscle weakness) in certain patients. The active ingredient in this medicine is a type of tricyclic antidepressant, which acts on the neurotransmitters in the brain, thereby helping to provide relief from depression and mental conditions. It can also block certain receptors in the body, helping to prevent agitation and anxiety.

Patients with OCD who take this medicine may notice relief from compulsive behaviour and the need to perform repetitive tasks. This medicine has been the subject of much medical research to determine whether or not it is an effective treatment for premature ejaculation.

Known hypersensitivity to any of the active substance or excipients.

Clomipramine is administered orally and is usually titrated from 25mg daily up to 100mg daily in the first two weeks. Maximum daily dose is up to 250mg daily.

Although antidepressant medications can treat depression and mental conditions in some patients, there is a possibility that some patients may experience a worsening of depression and even suicidal thoughts. You are advised to discuss all possible risks with your doctor before starting treatment.

Patients should never take MAO inhibitors 2 weeks before taking this medicine, during treatment, and after finishing treatment, as a serious drug reaction may occur as a result of this.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Clomipramine as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• If you suffer from any allergies.
• If you suffer from any other health conditions or illnesses.
• If you are using any other medicine (including all non-prescription).
• If you are using any supplements, vitamins, or herbal products of any kind.
